WWE WrestleMania 32 Preview & Predictions

The most anticipated week in wrestling is here; WrestleMania week. Fans look forward to this week all year, and if you’re one of the lucky fans to be able to go, you have so much to look forward to. From indie events, to NXT, to superstar meet and greets to memorabilia sightings at Axxess, and so much more, WrestleMania week is a dream come true for wrestling fans around the world. But, it all leads to the biggest event of the year, which takes place on April 3rd, 2016; WrestleMania 32. So, no better way to get ready for the show of shows, than with a preview for the show.

The 3rd Annual Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal

There is not really a storyline to this match that started back at WrestleMania 30, but it is fun and a cool concept to bring to WrestleMania each year. For the last two Battle Royals, there seems to be a overall favorite to win the match once they reveal who’s going to be in it. Ironically, both years it’s been Big Show as the favorite. But, he didn’t win the first one, as the winner was Cesaro. But, he did come back and win the Andre Memorial last year. This year is no different. Big Show seems to be the favorite again, but there is a little bit of a story leading into this. For the past few weeks, the Social Outcasts have been claiming they’re going to win, which always ends up with them being destroyed by Big Show. Two weeks ago, Kane made his way into the little story. This past Monday, Big Show and Kane teamed up to face off against the Social Outcasts. The match literally lasted about 15 seconds, then it turned into a big brawl where almost every contestant ran into the ring and fought each other, which ended with Kane and Big Show standing tall leading into the Pre-Show Match. Now, I’ve played this out in my head a few times and I think it could go a few different ways. Now, Big Show, Kane, Social Outcasts, Breeze, Henry, Swagger, Fandango, Sandow, Young, Ascension, Goldust, and R-Truth are in the match so far, but four spots are still open. So, one way I thought it could go was having someone who wasn’t announced yet be a surprise win, similar to how Cesaro won the first year. Next, I thought Big Show might win because he’s the defending champ. But, ultimately, I believe it’ll come down to Kane and Big Show as the final two, with Kane winning because I feel like they’re going to have a new winner every year.

Team Total Divas (Eva Marie, Paige, Natalya, Brie Bella & Alicia Fox) vs. Team B.A.D & Blonde (Lama, Emma Naomi, Tamina & Summer Rae)

In a odd, but intriguing series of events, this match came upon us based off a feud between Lana and Brie Bella. After Lana observed Brie and trash talked her for a few weeks, she finally attacked her after a match and hit a beautiful looking Bella-Buster on her on Raw. Lana would continue her antics on SmackDown, leading to what looked like a singles feud, until Team B.A.D. and Alicia Fox got involved. Sadly, the next series of events didn’t happen on TV, but it did happen on Main Event. After a Main Event tag team match with Naomi & Tamina vs. Brie Bella & Alicia Fox, a returning Emma & Summer Rae ran out and joined Lana, Tamina, & Naomi as they attacked Brie and Alicia. In a backstage segment, Natalya & Paige joined Team Bella turning the team into Team Total Divas. For the next week or so, it was a 4 on 5 situation and it seemed like Team Total Divas was heading into WrestleMania handicapped. But, this past Monday on Raw, after a match between Paige & Emma; a brawl between both teams broke out. Then, in a turn of events, we got the fifth member of Team Total Divas. With Nikki Bella injured, it had to be the only other cast member that was currently on TV. NXT TV that is. Yes, Eva Marie made her re-debut and joined Team Total Divas, which seemed to cause confusion and tension between the team of reality stars. Going into the WrestleMania Pre-Show, I fully expect this match to be chaos, in good and bad ways. Lana for instance, has never ever had a match before on TV or live events. So, her first match being at ‘Mania could go pretty good, or horribly bad. For viewing sake, I hope it goes good, but who knows how it could turn out. On the other hand, we have Eva Marie. A girl who plays a heel on NXT TV but joined a face team. Everyone already knows she’s most likely going to get massively booed at WrestleMania. Though she has noticeably gotten better since being in NXT, people still think she’s bad. I’m looking forward to this match no matter what because train wreck or not, it will be entertaining. As for the finish, since she’s heel and will be getting booed, I expect Eva Marie to turn on Team Total Divas and cost them the match, leading to Team B.A.D & Blonde to victory. On a side note: best of luck to Lana in her first match, I truly hope she kills it this Sunday.

The Usos vs. The Dudley Boyz

These two teams have been going back and forth for a while now, ever since the February 8th edition of Raw. Now, they finally clash. But, ever since the Dudleys declared that they will no longer be using tables, The Usos have been using them. So, based off of what we were seeing on screen, I instinctively thought this match would be a Tables Match for obvious reasons. But, as the feud went on and they added the match for the WrestleMania Pre-Show card; they never added the stipulation. On this week’s Raw, I thought for sure they’d add it, but they didn’t. So, unless they change it at the last minute, this match is just a grudge match. No matter what kind of match it is, I’m really not looking forward to this. I mean, I love The Usos, I love the Dudley Boyz, but recently their matches haven’t really been anything special. But, anything thing could happen at WrestleMania. They might pull a great Pre-Show match out of each other, and I hope they do. As for the finish, the Dudleys don’t need to win this. Could they win? Sure. But, they’re one of the most decorated tag teams in history. I expect them to put over the Usos here and give them a big win that could elevate them, possibly back into the Tag Team Title scene. Maybe we’ll get a little Table Action afterwards if they don’t add the stipulation. But no matter what, my pick is The Usos.

(United States Championship) Kalisto vs. Ryback

This match is what I’m personally most looking forward to on the Pre-Show. Kalisto, being one of my favorites, battling Ryback, who has actually been pretty good lately. This could be interesting. A little feud that started a few weeks ago when Ryback challenged Kalisto to a match for his Championship in a backstage interview segment on Raw. Kalisto of course, being the “little guy that doesn’t back down” accepted the challenge. Now, for the past few Raw’s and SmackDown’s we’ve seen verbal altercations between the two, mostly highlighted by Ryback making fun of Kalisto for his size. Kalisto always retaliates with something along the lines of how he’s a fighter and has a big heart. This isn’t a blood feud or anything like that, but simply a challenge between two men to see who’s better, and at the same time; it’s a David vs. Goliath type story. I’m so sad that this match is on the Pre-Show, but at least it’s still happening. This match could go either way. I really can’t call this, but if I had to choose based off of personal preference, I’m definitely going with Kalisto. It would be so awesome to see him pick up the win at his first ever WrestleMania.

After four WrestleMania Pre-Show matches, we head into a big four hour WrestleMania card.

(Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match) Kevin Owens (c) vs. Sami Zayn vs. Stardust vs. The Miz vs Dolph Ziggler vs. Zack Ryder vs. Sin Cara

This match is one of the matches I’m most looking forward to. So much talent in one match battling for the IC title, plus it’s a ladder match. Can’t get better than that. Last year we had a this same match, just with different talent, and it was awesome. I’m excited to see if this match will surpass last years, and it looks like it might based on the men in the match. What started with Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler, and The Miz trying to get a title shot against Kevin Owens, which quickly turned south for the champion after he decided that none of them deserved a shot, but either Sin Cara, Zack Ryder, or Stardust did. So, he set up a triple threat with them and the winner got a title shot at WrestleMania. After a DQ finish, Kevin figured that he got away from defending his championship at what he billed as “KOMania”. But, after he pissed off Stephanie McMahon, she decided that Owens should defend his championship on the grandest stage of them all. Not against one opponent, or two, or three, but six opponents in a seven man ladder match. After weeks of brawling and multi-man tag matches, were so close to seeing these guys go at it. We have Stardust, who hasn’t been doing much as of late, getting a IC title shot. We have Zack Ryder, who’s never received a title shot, or even heard his music play at WrestleMania, trying to get his WrestleMania moment. We also have Sin Cara who’s never had his WrestleMania moment either, as well as Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, in a match with two guys who’ve had their ‘Mania moments before in Miz & Ziggler, but this could kick their recently slow career into a higher gear. All of these men have something to gain from winning this match, and seven men who are determined to prove themselves at WrestleMania could be a dangerous thing for each opponent. I expect chaos and carnage and painful bumps, as well as one hell of a match. In the end, I see Sami Zayn picking up the win in his first WrestleMania ever and continuing his feud with Kevin Owens for a few more months.

(Battle for Tag Team Supremacy, not a joke) The New Day vs. The League Of Nations

At first, this match was a handicap match for the Tag Team Championships. But, WWE stupidly dropped the stipulation. I’m sorry, but I feel like this is kind of pointless without the championships on the line. I could see this match being a non-title match for Raw or something, but this is WrestleMania. I’m still very confused on why they dropped the title stipulation, but whatever. I don’t expect much out of this match other than some funny and entertaining New Day antics and maybe a awesome New Day entrance. This feud has been going on entirely too long, and much like the Dudleys vs. Usos feud, I’ve grown sick of it. I love New Day, and can deal with the League Of Nations, but this feud is basically both teams just insulting each other and it’s gotten old. Hopefully this is the end of the feud for these teams because I can’t take much more. As for the ending, I can’t see New Day losing. Even though it’s a handicap match, I see New Day pulling some sort of trick out of their hat, or should I say box of Booty O’s, to pick up the win. And hopefully after the match, Big E keeps his promise and leads the crowd in the biggest consecutive hip swivel ever.

AJ Styles vs. Chris Jericho

This is another match I’m looking forward to, kind of. I say kind of because these two have had good and bad matches. The feud started off as a “who’s better” type thing when AJ Styles made his Raw debut. They grew respect for each other and formed the Y2AJ tag team, which didn’t last long when Jericho turned heel and attacked his partner. This led to both men interrupting each other’s matches, verbally attacking each other, and even Jericho burning a Y2AJ shirt. It’s honestly been pretty entertaining, but I’m still kind of hesitant, considering in their last contest, Chris Jericho blew up and got way too tired about eight minutes into their match at Fastlane. Hopefully that doesn’t happen, and if everything goes well, I see this being a pretty damn good match. After wrestling all over the world, on the biggest stages possible, he’s now competing on the biggest stage ever at WrestleMania. AJ Styles should win his WrestleMania debut match, and I think he will. I predict AJ Styles defeating Chris Jericho with the Styles Clash, which he already kicked out of, but I don’t think he will this time.

(Divas Championship) Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch

This could possibly be the sleeper match of the night, that could out-preform all of the others. Three divas who’ve had fantastic matches are now doing it on a way bigger scale. These three have actually never had a triple threat match in NXT, so this is a first time match. All talented divas, who’re all having their first WrestleMania match. Becky, Sasha, and Charlotte all came up to the main roster together, and were all included in a three team feud in the summer. After winning the Divas Championship from Nikki Bella, Charlotte was running through talent with the help of her dad, Ric Flair. Becky even challenged for the Championship at the Royal Rumble show, but was unsuccessful, due to Ric Flair interfering. Sasha Banks on the other hand has never challenged for the title, but has defeated Charlotte in a non-title match. On the February 29th edition of Raw, Becky and Sasha battled to see who would become the new number one contender. After a double pin, the match ended in a draw. The rematch on SmackDown ended in a draw as well after a double disqualification when Charlotte interfered. The match was then set as a triple threat, making fans, including myself, super excited. All three Divas have been going at it verbally and physically and it’s been a long ride, but finally the match is soon upon us. I don’t see Charlotte retaining as the numbers are against her. But, the question is who will win? Becky or Sasha? Due to the fact that Charlotte has never beaten Sasha Banks, and Sasha has never gotten a title shot, I think she will overcome both divas and become the new WWE Divas Champion.

(No Holds Barred) Brock Lesnar vs. Dean Ambrose

I’m stoked to see what could be a brutal, brutal match. What started when Brock Lesnar attacked Dean Ambrose in the parking lot, quickly turned into the wacky Dean Ambrose trying to get revenge on Brock. But, Brock has been the physical one in the feud. We’ve seen Ambrose hit Brock a few times, but it always ends up with Brock Lesnar having the upper hand. Ambrose though, just plays mental games. Like meeting up with Mick Foley & Terry Funk to get a barbed wire bat and a chainsaw, to interrupting Brock Lesnar on this week’s Raw, coming out with a wagon and filling it with weapons, then leaving without saying a word and ignoring Brock who was in the ring with Paul Heyman. Brock was visibly mad, and I can only imagine what he’s going to do to Ambrose at WrestleMania. But, with the set of weapons he has, I can only imagine what Ambrose is going to do to Brock. Paul Heyman has said that Brock Lesnar is the best weapon, but how will he compare against a damn chainsaw? Probably not too smart for Brock to get close to Ambrose if he pulls that out. There will probably be blood, hard hits, violent spots, and crazy moments, and I’m so ready for it. These two are going to rip each other apart. As for the winner, I see Brock Lesnar winning. Even though Brock will win, I don’t think he’ll be able to keep Dean Ambrose down. After all, he is a “Lunatic”.

(Hell in a Cell) The Undertaker vs. Shane McMahon

If you’ve been watching WWE for the past month or so, you know the full stipulation for this match. Shane McMahon returned and wants to be in charge of the company. But, of course Mr. McMahon isn’t just going to hand over his baby just like that. So, Vince told Shane that he could have the company; if he beats the Undertaker, at WrestleMania; in a Hell in a Cell match. A newly added stipulation adds that if Undertaker loses this match, it will be his last WrestleMania ever. So, with Shane fighting for the company to make it a better place and a better product for the fans, and Undertaker fighting to essentially keep his career alive, plus with Vince McMahon in the middle of it, you can probably guess things got a bit heated. Just in the last couple of weeks, things got really intense after Shane called Undertaker Vince’s bitch, which he wasn’t fond of and he ended up chokeslamming Shane after Vince pushed him into Taker. Then, this past week, Undertaker proceeded to call Shane Vince’s bitch, which he didn’t like either. I guess no one wants to be Vince’s bitch. After the comment was made by Undertaker, Shane attacked him and they had a brawl, which ended with Shane jumping from the top rope to the outside, elbow dropping Undertaker through the announcers table. Now we know, Shane might do some insane stunt at WrestleMania. This guy was fearless, and apparently still is. As for the winner, I’m so conflicted. I want Shane McMahon to win for storyline sake because I want him to take control of Raw. But, I don’t want Undertaker to lose again at WrestleMania and I especially don’t want this to be his last WrestleMania. Yet, it is in Texas, where he’s from, and he’s getting old, so this is the perfect time for him to retire. Based off of gut instinct I’m going with Shane McMahon here. I expect both these guys to be carried out of the building after the match, but Shane will be the victor.

(WWE World Heavyweight Championship) Triple H vs. Roman Reigns

This feud has been pretty good looking back at it, but things just haven’t been going WWE’s way with this one. Roman is the face, and Triple H is the heel, apparently that is. Things haven’t turned out that way. Triple H won the WWE Title after winning the Royal Rumble, and the fans have been booing Roman ever since he was crowned number one contender for the title after losing the championship in the Royal Rumble. Fans also booed Triple H because no one likes the authority. But, a couple weeks ago everything changed. After Triple H attacked Roman Reigns on Raw and smashed his face into the announcers table, busting him opened and breaking his nose, the fans loved it and cheered Triple H. They even chanted “one more time” after Triple H beat the hell out of Roman. Weeks later, Roman returned from injury and attacked Triple H, and busted his head opened in a huge brawl while hitting the champion with everything he could get his hands on. The brawl including Roman hitting Triple H with a production case, and even smashing a TV over Triple H’s back. But after that, the fans still booed Roman. Two weeks ago, Roman attacked Triple H again to a sea of boos, and last week Triple H beat up Roman backstage with the help of the Dudley Boyz to a sea of cheers. A brawl broke out again to end this week’s Raw ending with a stare down. Now, going into WrestleMania, this match will probably be good, considering Triple H can still go. I think this match could go either way, but, in the end I think Roman Reigns will turn heel, and win the championship. If Roman does turn heel, the boos will actually be encouraged and that would be the best way to go for WWE.

Though I had doubts in the beginning, WrestleMania looks like it could be a great show. A huge eleven match card including the Pre-Show will give fans a variety of awesome matches and moments, plus The Rock will be there and I’m sure he’s going to have a epic segment involving a great promo and maybe some surprises. Hell, maybe he will event inject himself into one of the matches. But, overall I think WrestleMania will be better than expected, as it is most years and I’m really looking forward to the biggest show of the year, and I hope you are too. Thanks for reading.
