The Hardcore Files #39: Big Show vs. Chris Jericho

Hardcore Championship: Big Show (c) vs. Chris Jericho

This one was off to a hot start. Jericho wasn’t even down the ramp yet and Big Show went right after him. Walking into the match as one half of the WWF Tag Team Champions, Jericho has the opportunity to be a double champion. But, after Big Show got a hold of him, it wasn’t looking good for Jericho. Being whipped around, thrown head first into a trash can with a nasty landing, and overall being mauled by Big Show, poor Chris Jericho just couldn’t catch a break. Then, finally after moving out of the way of a leg drop, Jericho started to fire up and used a trash can lid to keep Show off of his feet. Big Show started to fight back, but got a set of steel steps kicked into his face, followed by a lionsault. Then, Chris Jericho pinned Big Show to become the new Hardcore Champion. But, his night wasn’t over. As he was walking up the ramp; Rhyno ran out from the back and gored him, then pinned Jericho to become the new Hardcore Champion. The 24/7 eventually gets everyone.

So happy to see the 24/7 ruled being applied again during this edition. After a fun match, with the underdog overcoming the odds, Rhyno spoiled the fun and used the Hardcore 24/7 rule to his advantage to become the champ. Fun stuff. So, make sure you come back next time for more of The Hardcore Files.
