Welcome back to the 37th edition of The Hardcore Files. Last time, we saw Kane defeat two men to become the Hardcore Champion at WrestleMania 17. Now, just 19 days later, Kane is defending the Hardcore Title against the gore machine. Let’s get into it.
Undertaker & Kane were out to start the show off with a promo. They were interrupted by William Regal who told Kane he looked ready for a fight, so he was going to defend his Hardcore Championship against Rhyno, who was accompanied by Edge & Christian.
Date: April 19, 2001

Rhyno, Edge & Christian all ran down to the ring and went straight after Kane & Undertaker before the bell even rang. Soon enough, Undertaker & Kane cleaned the ring of the trio and the match began.
Undertaker fought Edge & Christian out through the crowd while Kane & Rhyno battled back into the ring. Kane make quick work of Rhyno. After hitting him with a flying clothesline, he hit Rhyno with a chokeslam and looked to have this match in the bag. But, from out of no where, Triple H & Stone Cold ran down to the ring with chairs and attacked Kane. Stone Cold & Triple H dismantled Kane for a good few minutes with the chairs until Rhyno was pulled on top of Kane and pinned him to win. Rhyno is the new Hardcore Champion.
Well, I certainly did not expect the match to go down the way it did. Stone Cold & Triple H shocked me with their attack on Kane. I didn’t see that coming at all, but now Rhyno is the new Hardcore Champion, and things can only go up from here. Thanks for reading, and be sure to come back next time for more of The Hardcore Files.
