The Hardcore Files #25 (Crash Holly vs. Gerald Brisco)

Welcome back to the twenty fifth edition of The Hardcore Files. Last time we saw Crash Holly win back his Hardcore Championship against Gerald Brisco. Now, Gerald and Pat Patterson are on a mission to get rid of Crash Holly. Let’s get into it.

Date: June 19, 2000

Where: Raw Is War

Watch: WWE Network

(Hardcore Championship) Crash Holly vs. Gerald Brisco
Crash Holly was competing in a non-title match against his cousin; Hardcore Holly to see who would advance in the King of the Ring Tournament. But, during the match, Pat Patterson ran down and distracted Hardcore Holly, while Gerald Brisco slid in the ring and hit Crash with a 2×4.

Hardcore Holly, who’s now pissed off because they just cost him a spot in the King of the Ring, begins to go after Pat Patterson. While Hardcore Holly is beating him down, Gerald called the referee in the ring and pinned Crash Holly to become the new Hardcore Champion.

After the match, Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson celebrated the win backstage with champagne. That was until Pat Patterson poured the champagne on Brisco and smashed the bottle over his head. Pat then covered his friend to become the new Hardcore Champion!

That was uh, something. Everything felt so rushed and quickly done here, but I guess they did it to get the segment out of the way. Gerald Brisco winning was very weird because Hardcore Holly was beating up Pat right next to where Crash was being pinned and he acted as if he didn’t care, but then he was mad when the ref counted the three. Very awkward. The backstage segment was better though, which gave us a little comical win. Like I always say, anything could happen, and we just saw a friend turn on a friend. What a time. Be sure to come back next time for more of The Hardcore Files.
