Looking Ahead

Why We Wrestle completed the first round of their Heavyweight title tournament this past weekend, and second round matches are scheduled to begin on 2/27. Due to numerous weather-related cancellations and other circumstances, the promotion has decided to redo the brackets, and at this point have yet to announce what the second-round matches will be. The 15 wrestlers who have advanced are Kevin Blue, Sugar Dunkerton, Tank, Geter, Se7en, Black Baron, Stryknyn, Ethan Case, Seth Delay, Todd Sexton, Mikael Judas, Billy Buck, Slim J, Chip Day and Kory Chavis.

Twin States Wrestling will hold their second event on 3/6 in Piedmont AL. The main event features the current TSW champion “Crown Jewel” Chase Owens taking on the former “Crown Jewel of the Embassy” Jimmy Rave, plus Moose will face Eric Wayne. Also scheduled to compete are Tank, Jeremiah Plunkett, Ace Haven and other top stars from Alabama, Mississippi and beyond.

(DISCLAIMERS: I have worked for WrestleMerica, Peachstate Wrestling Alliance and NWA Atlanta in the last year, and have a financial relationship with the owners of Empire Wrestling regarding the Scenic City Invitational. This column is intended to feature ALL promotions in the region, and I will do my best to remain impartial and cover promotions regardless of whether or not I work for them or are in their “good graces”. For purposes of this column, the “southern U.S.” is defined as cities and towns within 180 miles of Atlanta.)
